NY State Record!
In the Freight Frenzy game season (2021-2022), our team, along with team 13357 IR Lightning, got the NY State Record of 280 points! Our team also achieved the 2nd and 5th place scores of 278 and 261, respectively.
Sizzlin' Summer of Prizes
This summer, our team put together a raffle fundraiser consisting of multiple prizes given out each day in the month of July. Participants could win many different prizes including museum passes, sports game tickets, ice cream and restaurant gift cards, and much more!
Helping Team 17222 Prota
Last season, we mentored FTC team PROTA. It was a great learning experience for both teams as we were able to guide them to figure out what they needed to do to create an awesome robot. We supported them at a competition in Albany, NY, where they did fantastically and got to the finals!
Rank #1 in NY
Our team was ranked #1 in NY State last season. We received the Inspire Award, which is the highest award a team can get, meaning they have completely embodied what FIRST stands for. We were also able to get the top score in the state of an impressive 280 points!
Game Testing
We did extensive testing for all the game elements to give us a better idea of how they work and what our robot would need to do. In doing this, we can understand the game and game terms better, making it easier for us when it comes time for tournaments.
Can Crusher
The team made a robot that can traverse many obstacles that other robots cannot and picks up cans to deposit them in the bucket on it. We bring it with us to many fundraising events to show people and get them interested in robotics.
